A small deposit is requested to hold your date and time. For local weddings, $50 is customary. For out of area and destination weddings, 30% is requested. This deposit is non-refundable and guarantees I will be at the specified place and time, ready to perform your wedding ceremony. This fee ensures you will have my services as booked and you don't need to worry about someone not being there on your Special Day. It also takes into account the work I've already performed up to your wedding day, such as writing your custom ceremony, Certificate printing costs, etc.
I will follow-up with you frequently up to the week of your wedding to ensure the ceremony I've written meets with your approval and that there are no changes in date, time or place.
Remainder of Payment is taken care of before the wedding, when the license is presented to the Officiant. I am happy to accept cash or check. I am even able to accept payment via PayPal!
The giving of a gratuity is customary but optional. This is a discretionary amount of money in addition to the honorarium fee given to the officiant. The amount you give depends on your relationship with the officiant and the amount of personal involvement or time they have spent prior to the ceremony and during the rehearsal. It is suggested that the groom put this fee in a sealed envelope and give it to his best man or wedding consultant, who will give it to the officiant immediately after the ceremony.
*Keep in mind, the deposit is non-refundable unless I am unable to officiate due to personal reasons or unable to find a suitable replacement Minister. If the bride or groom changes the date, time or place of the wedding, and I cannot Officiate as a result, or if the wedding is called off, the deposit will not be refunded.
